Description
The STH machine is an advanced step screen, specifically designed for in-channel installation. It is engineered to deliver optimal performance and durability while maintaining a minimal weight profile.
This step screen is composed of two sets of alternating lamellas with a predetermined spacing, creating an efficient filtration area. The design positions one set of lamellas as fixed, securely bolted to the step screen frame, while the other set is attached to a moving frame, driven by a chain system. Both sets of lamellas are stair-shaped, enhancing the screening process.
The operation of the step screen is highly effective for fine screening. As particles are captured by the lamellas, they create a blockage, leading to a rise in upstream water levels. This triggers the movable lamellas to ascend, lifting the particles up to the discharge chute.
A key advantage of this machine is its ability to handle very high flow rates while achieving fine filtration (down to 2 mm). Additionally, it is uniquely capable of being designed to fit wide channels, a feature not commonly found in other screening equipment.
The STH step screen also boasts a self-cleaning mechanism. Optionally, a supplementary washing system can be installed at the discharge point, enhancing discharge efficiency, improving screenings cleaning, and helping to mitigate odor issues associated with screenings disposal.
To reduce overall weight, the upper lamellas are typically made of HDPE, but a full stainless steel (SS) construction is available upon request.
Furthermore, the unit can be equipped with a control panel, offered in either electromechanical or PLC configurations, to cater to various operational needs and preferences.
